Handsome Lokkei is the Havanese daddy for our new puppies

Our Havanese Lolla and Lucci were bred with our Gr. Ch. Lokkei.

Beautiful puppies are expected in 4 – 5 weeks … somewhere between June 4-June 12, 2015. And yes, we are excited!

Last December we had these beautiful puppies from Lolla and Lokkei. We can only expect the same wonderful pups this summer.

Lolla and Lokkei have puppies

That’s right beautiful Lokkei (GCh Angebraten Baron Lokkei de Grace) is a new daddy. Lolla delivered 5 spunky pups late in the night of Oct 2, 2013. Ch Sedoso Lolla Mae de Grace is a good mother. She cleaned them and is now nursing her babies.

Check out the 5 plump wee ones – 4 boys and a girl. We’ll be watching the coloring as they grow.

In two weeks they will open their eyes and begin to learn to use their legs. We will keep the puppies for 10 weeks. During that time they will be vet checked, socialized and micro-chipped before they leave here.

Lokkei relaxes at home

Before Lokkei returned to Binghamton, NY, last week for more training, he had time to relax and enjoy his own back yard. And enjoy he did.

Check out this great pond where he relaxes with Pastor Ed. Ed & Debbie shared that, although the dogs never bother the fish in the pond, a Great Blue Heron has been known to enjoy a few meals. But all in all, the pond has been a wonderful addition to their back yard.

It’s Pastor Ed’s favorite place… and Lokkei likes it just as much (especially if they can share the bench).

Lokkei Tours the Havre de Grace Waterfront

It was a great evening (Aug. 29) when I had the opportunity to walk the waterfront in Havre de Grace. It was a little overcast, but comfortable with a wonderful breeze. And so many new things to smell, and hear, and taste.

I even met a new friend, young Jill. She was so much fun! We shared kisses and giggles.

I enjoyed seeing the Thursday night sailboat races, the skipjack Martha Lewis and the Lantern Queen riverboat. Golly, I can’t wait to get to Binghamton to tell Larrgo all that I’ve seen. He’ll be sooooo jealous!

Keep checking back. By the time you read this I’ll have headed back to Binghamton to my handler, Ruthellen Viall of Viva Havanese. She’ll be working with me and Larrgo so we’ll be in tip-top form for the Westminster Dog Show in Feb. 2014!

Lokkei (a Havanese Gr. Champion) and I have fun

Lokkei definitely has both the fine line of the Havanese, the charming personality, and the energy of a 2 year old kid. He was just enjoying himself so much today!

It was delightful to spend an hour playing with Lokkei de Grace, officially known as Gr. Ch. Angebraten Wall St Wonder. I tried to get a few casual photos and a bit of video.

He was certainly full of the Havanese vim and vigor and silliness. I spent a lot of time just aiming for the right shot only to have him turn his back and head the other direction. What a character.

He leaves Wednesday to meet with his trainer/handler Ruthellen Viall of Viva Havanese in Binghamton, NY. There he’ll join Larrgo de Grace as they prepare for the challenge of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC in Feb. 2014. Golly, whatever will Pastor Ed and Debbie do if they both are vying for first place. We can only hope they have such a dilemma!

Lokkei visited Havre de Grace Maritime Museum

We know it’s been awhile since we’ve posted. The day that we visited the Concord Point Lighthouse and met my new friend, Mayor Wayne, we also checked out the Havre de Grace Maritime Museum.

Here’s a fine photo from the Museum’s website. We hope you’ll visit the museum after checking out their website. It’s really a lot of fun and you’ll learn a great deal about our rich cultural and natural heritage of the Lower Susquehanna River and the Upper Chesapeake Bay that is fast disappearing. There are many fine maritime traditions you’ll learn about here.

Now I might add, that the tour that day was really tiring. You can see here that I was very glad to have a moment to rest with my two favorite-est people. See you soon on another walk of Havre de Grace. _ Lokkei

GCH Lokkei Meets The Mayor

What an exciting weekend we had. On Friday evening we attend the Friday Concerts-in-the-Park (Tydings Park) and took two of our Havanese with us. What a great evening and a perfect time for all of us, enjoying friends, fresh air, and some great toe-tappin’ music.

Then on Sunday we took Lokkei to the Concord Point Lighthouse where he met and had his photo taken with Wayne Dougherty, Mayor of our fine city of Havre de Grace. Lokkei is really enjoying this touring activity as you’ll see in the video.

Our first video for our dogs getting to tour the city was a huge success. We think you’ll enjoy it too. We already know that Lokkei did!

Our Havanese, Lilli and Lokkei, love music

Last Friday, July 26, Debbie and I took Lokkei (left) and Lilli to the Friday Outdoor Concert at Tydings Park here in Havre de Grace. The concerts are sponsored by the Havre de Grace Arts Commission. So many were rained out this year, that this finale was very well attend by a huge, enthusiastic audience.

Our Havanese Lokkei and Lilli certainly received plenty of attention. They were very well behaved and enjoyed the music as much as we did.

Ch Baron Lokkei de Grace has recently won Grand Champion and we hope to take him to Westminster Kennel Club dog show in NYC in early 2014. He has matured nicely and is a pleasure to be around.

Keep an eye out for future photos as we take our Havs of Havre de Grace to various locations around the city! Should be fun!

Lokkei Shines…

This morning we traveled to Timonium, MD to the Maryland State Fairgrounds to see Barron Lokkei de Grace win his Championship.

GCh Surluv Lickin Larrgo de Grace also was in the show and scored more points. As I said before we are going to allow Ch Baron Lokkei de Grace to continue towards his Grand Championship as well. Next week they will be at Trenton, NJ.

Havs of Havre de Grace now has Ch Sedoso Lolla Mae de Grace, Ch We Luv Lucci de Grace. GCh Surluv Lickin Larrgo de Grace and Ch Baron Lokkei de Grace.

Lokkei Adds Points

Yes this is Lokkei!!

He is really looking good. He won his first two points at Troy (NY) Kennel Club Show.

Last weekend he was at the Harrisburg Gray and Blue Cluster Dog Show (3 days) and won all three days for a total of 12 points (Best of Breed). He is well on his way towards his AKC Championship. We have decided we will let him also go towards his Grand Championship. We are really excited!!!

Meanwhile Larrgo continues to win and has a total of 79 Grand Championship points making him Top Dog in Maryland. We are proud of our dogs and very thankful to the loving, yet professional work done my handler, Ruthellen Viall of Viva Havanese in Binghamton, NY.

Our Havanese LOKKEI wins his first show

This is our handsome Havanese Lokkei with Handler Ruthellen Viall of Viva Havanese in Binghamton, NY at his first dog show in York, PA. The show today is sponsored by York Kennel Club.

Lokkei won first place in the 9 to 12 months group. He will be one year old March 28. We are very excited about his future! Havs of Havre de Grace is so proud of our dogs. They bring us so much pleasure and continue to show us what a wonderful breed the Havanese is!
