Just What Is So Special About the Westminster Dog Show?

Westminster? Special? Could it be that this is the 137th Annual Dog Show?

Or might it be that it takes place in Madison Square Garden, New York, NY?

Maybe it’s the 2,721 dogs from around the world that are entered. Or maybe it’s the fact that the Westminster Dog Show is the second-longest continuously-held sporting event in this country – the first being the Kentucky Derby. WOW!

Maybe it’s the fact that the grand finale will be televised on CNBC-tv on February 12th. Then again, it just might be ALL the above!

For us at Hav’s of Havre de Grace, it’s the excitement that one of our own, SurLuvs Lickin Larrgo de Grace (Larrgo to those who know and love him) is entered with 25 other Havanese being judged on conformation to the Havanese standard.
